Emergency Preparedness

Living in Northern Ontario, it is not uncommon to have winter storms that result in our customers losing power. While we do our best to have your power turned back on in a timely manner, there are times that mother nature can cause power outages that last more than a couple of hours.

It is always a good idea to have an emergency preparedness kit ready for longer outages. Here is a list of items we suggest you have ready:

  1. Two litres of water per person per day.
  2. A flashlight
  3. Battery-powered or wind-up radio
  4. Extra batteries
  5. First aid kit
  6. Extra battery power banks for your phones and tablets
  7. Canned or dried food that won't spoil
  8. Cash
  9. Blankets
  10. A list of emergency numbers and important contacts- Written down
  11. Medical items or prescriptions you are required
